WattWise helps households make better-informed electricity choices that save both money and
resources. Our project focuses on analyzing individual electricity consumption to recommend the
most suitable procurement options – such as balcony PV systems, dynamic electricity tariffs, or
combinations with battery storage. To do this, we take a snapshot of each household’s energy
consumption over a short period using a simple, attachable device that users borrow as part of our
integrated service. This snapshot forms the basis for a personalized analysis of usage patterns and
potential savings. Our goal is to enable independent, transparent, and personalized decision-making
for everyday household use.

We’re currently developing our analytics software, user interface, and hardware prototype, while also
collecting feedback to ensure the service fits real user needs. One key insight so far: people are
interested, but ease of use is essential. Minimizing user effort will be crucial to making WattWise
successful.
