A MOBILE APPLICATION FOR TESTING AND TRAINING BRAIN FUNCTION
My Saige is a smartphone application designed for healthy adults who wish to understand, maintain and improve core cognitive functions through science based assessment and training, guided by an artificial intelligence companion. The app distinguishes itself by separating objective testing from contextual training, thereby preventing practice effects and enabling accurate longitudinal tracking of cognitive change. The most novel aspect of this app is the AI guide ‘Saige’ which can provide detailed feedback, explain the science behind the exercises and analyse the data in a more advanced manner. Another unique selling point to the app is that it is designed to be more accessible than any currently available brain training app on the market. The AI guide can explain exercises in more detail, the exercises adapt to individual users and in future additional features such as larger text size and voice mode will be added to enhance accessibility.
The core cognitive domains addressed by My Saige are working memory, selective and sustained attention, cognitive flexibility, processing speed and verbal memory and language. For each domain the app provides a brief, repeatable assessment that yields a reliable baseline measure, as well as a training module that teaches practical strategies for improvement. The current stage of the app creation is development of the MVP in React Native for iOS on iPhone that will be used for alpha and beta testing.
Looking ahead, the roadmap includes expanding the exercise library to cover all five domains, integrating a lightweight LLM API for richer, personalized coaching, and conducting user testing sessions to refine accessibility features and ensure the experience remains calm, insightful and truly beneficial for everyday cognitive health.
